Kate Dayton, Principal |
Kate grew up in Vermont where the natural beauty of our earth was an integral part
of everyday life. She studied and worked in the performing arts and real estate industries
before founding her company in 2004. While preparing for a kitchen remodel and searching for “formaldehyde-free” and low VOC kitchen cabinets Kate found how unavailable these options were if you lived on the east coast. Green Courage, LLC was born out of the frustration she encountered during the physical search for material while she also found herself faced with a personal search for deeper purpose in life. The happy collision of these two searches is the creation of Green Courage, LLC. The company was formed in October, 2004 with the mission to make it easy for people to find healthy choices in building and finish materials for the places we live and work. Green Courage, LLC provides environmentally safe and healthy building products and finishes to all who look to do the best for themselves, their loved ones and the environment. Kate is dedicated to sharing information, making high quality green products easily accessible and providing a seamless and joyful project experience.
Green Courage, llc is a member of the U. S. Green Building Council (USGBC),
Northeast Sustainable Energy Assoc. (NESEA), Business Alliance for Local Living
Economies (BALLE) Sustainable Hudson Valley (SHV) and New Platz Chamber of Commerce.
Kate lives in the Hudson Valley of New York with her husband, Michael, and two sons,
Sam (16) and Tyler (12). |

Leevi Ernits, Interior Designer |
Leevi Studied architecture in her native Estonia and worked for several years as an
architectural intern on both commercial and residential projects.
After relocating to the United States, she received a BFA in Painting from SUNY Purchase
and worked and exhibited as a studio artist. Combining her passions for art and three
dimensional design, she graduated from the New York School of Interior Design with a
BFA in Interior Design. She founded her own design firm LE Design, LLC in 2005 and has
been on the Green Courage team since July, 2007. |

Josh Perlsweig |
Josh graduated from North Carolina State University in 2007 where he received a B.A. in Political Science/Public Policy with a minor in Environmental Science. He moved to New Paltz, drawn to the area by its natural surroundings as well as the Hudson Valley's rich history of social and environmental action. His love for the outdoors has inspired him to seek career paths within industries that promote environmentally progressive agendas. Josh brings to Green Courage adeep academic background and personal philosophy that is uniquely aligned with the company's mission to be in the forefront of a new industry movement and to lead their partners into an environmentally conscious future.
Josh has been with Green Courage since March, 2008.
